I’ve got a lot of issues with organized religions that use socially coercive methods in a ‘market dominance’ type situation to prevent people from leaving the religion. Islam is WAY out there in terms of the levels they are willing to go to enforce conformity, up to and including executing people. I mean not even the Scientologists or Mormons are that crazy. Can you imagine it if Scientology decrees that anyone who leaves the ‘Church’ shall be executed?’
Islam basically wrote the rule book on socially coercive techniques to be used in ‘market dominance’ type situations. The most obvious one being praying 5 times day. The bell rings, and you will stand out if you don’t get on your knees and pray. Same with the head-wear for women, and the beard thing for men. Naturally when you look at it in terms of what the hell would an all powerful ‘God’ want with any of these things, its bloody silly:- WAY beyond comically ridiculous. However this seems to be a thought that is absent, presumed missing in many Muslim heads. Indeed there are even girls out there such as Amenakin who actively embraces such techniques, and in doing so she makes it that much harder for other women in her community to escape the oppression of women in Islam that is arguable the worst in the modern age.
However that’s not my prime reason for making this video. This girl (Amenakin) has been abusing the DMCA, and I’m not going to stand by and allow the precedent to be set that some Islamic girl, offended by potholer54 calling bullshit on her pseudo science ramblings, should use the DMCA as a way of censoring for Allah.

Oh dear, this DMCA abuse is getting to be a bit ‘viral’, isn’t it?
TF, thank you so much for a hearty laugh at the stupid pre-iron-age bearded sky faery’s followers (note that this description also applies to Jehovah, etc). I cacked meself! 🙂 There’s actually a great photo out there in the Great Internet Space of a number of burkha-clad muslim women enjoying themselves in front of a hotel, and of course you couldn’t (and probably they themselves couldn’t) identify which one is which! Great for an irony-deficient diet.
There was some confusion regarding what the DMCA complaint was about, especially with the hateful and embarrassing reaction (from both sides of the aisle) about the perceived ‘religious insult’ that actually didn’t happen, so thank you both (Peter and yourself) for clarifying the situation.
But we shouldn’t be surprised when a utuber like Amenakin, who allows no discourse or contrary discussion in her comments, flips out and files a petty, risible, and ultimately unsupportable DMCA filing.
I’m still not sure she wasn’t just pandering to the worst of her critical-thinking-bereft followers, but that’s just my speculation. Either way, utube’s management should follow their damn rules and either shut her down or force her to apologise, and leave the apology video on permanently. But then, I always was a dreamer…
It’s also interesting to see the roaches that scuttered out from the woodwork from both camps when potholer54’s video was released. The fact that he and amenakin have had to release a joint statement decrying the disgusting reactions by people who didn’t actually watch the damn video!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what does it say for the intelligence of people who can’t even watch a 3-minute video without missing the whole point?
