You don’t have to think about it long to realize that the future of mankind relies on the effective combating of pseudo-science.
That is the future of mankind relies on an increase level of knowledge. When the rate that knowledge is being lost, or polluted by pseudo-science equal that where it is being gained, to a first degree approximation, equilibrium is reached and mankind stagnates.
Combating such disinformation will at some point therefore become as important as research.
Sadly as we get to know more and more, it becomes easier and easier for bullshit merchants posing as scientists to go undetected or unchallenged, and the harder it becomes for Joe Public to distinguish real scientists from increasingly slick impostors. Arguably there is no field where this is more true than in climate change, where a small and very well funded group of ‘climate change deniers’/ pseudo-scientists seek to dis-inform society about the impact of the anthroporgenic release of carbon dioxide.
Thankfully, the National Center for Science and Education (The NCSE), who have done such sterling work in keeping creationism out of the class room are now moving to keep such disinformation on climate change from being dissemination in schools.

Climate denial is a pseudo-science? I’m not sure you can claim that, I do not think climate denial is even a theory. What are the climate deniers claiming anyway? I don’t think they claim anything at all.
Remember, its the climate alarmists who are making the claims of future climate catastrophe, it is up to the alarmists to support those claims. The deniers are merely disputing the claims made by the alarmists, they are being skeptical of the climate science, they are not making any claims themselves. I don’t think you can call it pseudo-science.

Remember, its the evolutionists who are making the claims of godless speciation, it is up to the evolutionists to support those claims. The deniers are merely disputing the claims made by the evolutionists, they are being skeptical of the pretty much all science, they are not making any claims themselves. I don’t think you can call it pseudo-science.

The deniers are claiming that the earth is cooling. No wait, it is warming but it is due to an increase in the sun’s output. No wait, they are claiming that the data are inaccurate if not out right fraudulent. No, wait, they are claiming that it is warming but it is natural and has been going on for over 10,000 years.
The only thing they agree on is the no way human activity could not, no way, not us, be a factor. The deniers tactic in criticizing the science is basically along the lines of saying that the scientists are wrong because one says Pi = 3.14159 and other says Pi=3.1416 and that both are wrong because Pi is a really really long number so the whole foundation for their arguments is defective.

Sounds like you agree with me that climate denial is not a pseudo science, it is not any kind of science. The deniers are merely disputing the claims made by the alarmists. They are not really claiming anything at all.

I think we are in agreement. I’m not sure. I agree that the “alarmists” must present the evidence, and I think they have.
On one hand the denialists are saying the evidence is insufficient, and I gather always will be, and on the other are grasping at anything they can find that they could use to rebut the arguments for climate change. The same methods, and psychology, seem to involved in evolution denialism, and I think that as time goes on denialism and even more issues that inspire a group of deniers to come forward that it may come to be recognized as a philosophical system of thought, weird as that may sound. I can hear it now, “Well, as a denialist I have to say…” Sounds like something for a Stephen Colbert skit.

Its a hoax perpetrated by you lazy copy and paste news editors because science has NEVER said climate change was a real crisis, only that it “could”be and “might” be.
Science agrees;”Climate change is real and happening and COULD cause unstoppable warming.”
Not one IPCC says it will happen. Not one IPCC warning is not swiming in maybes and could bes. Deny that.
A climate crisis would be a comet hit of a crisis but science refuses to say their crisis is as certain and real and eventual as they love to say comet hits are.
HOW CLOSE TO UNSTOPPABLE WARMING will science take us before they say their crisis is inevitable not just possible?
Science didn’t lie, you lazy copy and paste news editors lied and said it willl happen.
