So many videos to makes, so little time!

So the other day I started making a list of videos I have planned (which are at various degrees of development).

too-much-to-do1

—————————————————————
Interview with Lawrence Krauss (postponed)
How to spend a billion dollars.. What can you really buy with a billion dollars. Hubble cost average American 3 bux

Climate change videos
1) how much bioenergy to run man kinds biology compared to civilization compared to global warming flux
2) heat flow on planet earth
3) changing the volume of the oceans

Debunk Laci green feminist bullshit on feminism

Why do people laugh at creationists
1) giants – nephilimfree
2) Atmosphere -ian juby
3) What is science -ken ham
Noah’s arc theme park

Debunk radioactive bullshit
1) Depleted uranium
2) is it safe off Fukushima

How does a drinking bird work

sodium potassium alloy stuff
1) potassium exploding on ice
2) ultra high speed footage of explosion
3) large scale potassium, sodium and cesium explosions
4) ACTUAL mechanism of nak/water explosion
5) is it possible to get lithium to Explode

Make cesium thermometer- need to sort out high vacuum kit
Scientific research on Noah’s Flood- what happens to a plant under water for a year
Watching the go around the Sun (year in time lapse)
Time lapse of tracking telescope over several days (+ with without moon)

Debunk homeopathy (pico second qm simulation of water)
Who is thunder foot – scientific research
Getting drunk science – monitor blood alcohol level in resting and physically hard working thunderf00t
Comparison of sleep pattern while drunk and sober

Remaster why do people laugh at creationists videos

Anita sarkeesian master’s thesis and why having a ponytail is sexist
-Full reason why having gender bias in top field is probably nothing to do with sexism
Solar system in perspective. What if the solar system was all water
Death by meteorite impact…. Will you live long enough for your ears to go pop?

1) energetic of car crashes and statistics
2) comparison of car crash stats and rules and regulations with guns

call rationalwiki out on its comical degree of social justice warrior BS.

So just curious, what you would like to see!

  1. steve s (@nogods69) Says:

the creationist and climate change videos sound the most interesting.

  2. MH Says:

    All of the above…
    I’m serious.
I’m also really exicited about the Kruass interview and Why do People Laugh at Creationists.

  3. Johan Says:

    giants – nephilimfree

  4. Natural Born Atheist Says:

    Getting pissed for science!

  5. Anonymous Says:

I have to confess that you got me curious on the research you’re doing with metals and water

  6. R. Alves Says:

This Laci Green has been debunked (and made fun of) again and again. Perhaps targeting a juicer feminist target? Someone who actually puts forth some proper arguments… erm…

    …oops, forget about it.

    Right. Moar Sciencez dude!

    You rock.

  7. GoombaTroopa Says:

I’d love to see the vids(in descending order)
    Drinking bird
    Radioactive bullshit
    climate change

  8. Thunder Says:

    Interview with Lawrence Krauss (postponed)

Who is thunder foot – scientific research

Scientific research on Noah’s Flood- what happens to a plant under water for a year

These look like the most interesting. Would really like to see you interview Lawrence Krauss though 🙂

  9. dougal444 Says:

actual mechanism of nak water explosion.

    Who is thunderf00t

    death by meteor

    please.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Interview with Lawrence Krauss is my top pick.

    For the rest: Science/Bullshit debunking/Science/etc…

  11. M3n747 Says:

My vote goes for the drinking bird, homoeopathy and Lawrence Krauss, not necessarily in that particular order.

  12. Anonymous Says:

    Laci Green, giants – nephilimfree

  13. Ken Madsen Says:

moar explody water. errm. sodium potassium alloy stuff
then go call out rationalwiki damnit. they’ve been practically begging for it for a long time now.
my third choice is this: comparison of car crash stats and rules and regulations with guns
    just because it’s something new.
you’ve been doing so much that has either religion and professional victimhood that i think that field is satisfied for now.

  14. Anonymous Says:

The Krauss interview is my top pick !

  15. Dave Cousineau Says:

to me, Creationism seems like it’s KOed, at least for the moment. feminism is currently a more important issue to me. would love to see more against anita sarkeesian, as well as Laci Green. I like Laci Green, and I think it would be great if you could start arguing back and forth on this topic.

  16. Ash Windtalker Says:

No real preference in the order of videos, but I do have a certain interest in debunking radiation myths, thus the top of the list.

    Debunk radioactive bullshit
    1) Depleted uranium (Don’t touch it! It’s EEEVIL! ~ TimeBandits)
    2) is it safe off Fukushima

Anita sarkeesian master’s thesis and why having a ponytail is sexist
(This one will be good, seeing as we both have a ponytail)

    sodium potassium alloy stuff
    1) potassium exploding on ice
    4) ACTUAL mechanism of nak/water explosion
    5) is it possible to get lithium to Explode

Why do people laugh at creationists
    2) Atmosphere -ian juby

(Getting pissed? Do it for Science!)
Getting drunk science – monitor blood alcohol level in resting and physically hard working thunderf00t
Comparison of sleep pattern while drunk and sober

  17. Justin Templer Says:

    Videos debunking anti-vax and anti-GMO

    • Dave Cousineau Says:

yes! good idea. I keep hoping c0nc0rdance will do more of those, but tfoot can do them too

  18. nihilismplus Says:

    your own science

  19. Anonymous Says:

I’d like to see the stuff about car crashes.

  20. Mel Moore Says:

Fukushima (I’m a local) and depleted uranium w.r.t. service personnel litigation. Anything to debunk feminism. Changing ocean levels and the role of rational scepticism in the global warming debate – has it been dangerously eroded/shut down out of fear of being called something nasty?

  21. Billy Francis Says:

WDPLAC needs another chapter, for sure- and Nephy is always funny. Laci Green needs a beatdown, too – she has for 5 years now.

Climate Change would be great – perhaps a topic less covered already.

  22. jmdlugosz Says:

    * Climate change videos
In general, Potholer covered that. I’d like to see an outline of what others have covered well, with shoutouts to them. Make what’s already good and posted not forgotten! Then, see what still needs to be covered.

    * Debunk Laci green feminist bullshit on feminism
I’m not interested except as calling BS on whatever topic is going around. But, I worry about that being too “at the moment”. I want videos to be useful as resources for years to come. So, any “at the moment” call-out should be quick and not requiring much work, or make sure it Teaches to Fish as well, using the timely topic as a major example. HOW do you tell if something is BS? Have an answer such as a series of points and subpoints, and use that when scripting so that the lessons are consistent and repeated.

    * Why do people laugh at creationists
That’s your claim to fame. There’s someone else going over Ian Juby’s stuff, so give him a shout-out rather than saying the same thing. That’s more time for other examples.

    * Debunk radioactive bullshit
Since that is along the lines of your personal expertise, you can do this more authoratively than the random skeptic. So I think it’s an area you should concentrate on.

    * How does a drinking bird work
Hasn’t that been done like a million times already?

    * sodium potassium alloy stuff
Yes, for sure need cool science stuff and explosions to draw people in, rather than only telling them they’re idiots. You have the footage and/or are working on that anyway, so that’s a no-brainer.
As for the ACTUAL result, your original research, that should indeed be posted as a video for the populus, not just in ArXiv.
I’m also personally interested in how to make metalic sodium at home, explaining why the Na and Cl are dispursed in the water but can’t be segregated, but a current separates the H and O… and melting the salt and running a current _will_ separate them, but the melting point is rather high, but lye can work at a pizza-oven temperature… how it was done originally by the pioneers of chemestry and with what primitive equitpment?

    * Make cesium thermometer
    I definitely want one.

    * Debunk homeopathy (pico second qm simulation of water)
James Randi and others have debunked it rather well already. Science videos on water behavior at the atomic level would be cool by itself. Water is people’s exemplar of a fluid because we use it so much, but it is really very strange in so many ways. I’ve seen lists of hundreds of anomalous properties of water in different categories. The way the molecules make transient structures is neet. That is something not available a few years ago, so it’s great to bring out.
BTW, I’d be happy to help with the number crunching, on my hex core 4GHz water cooled rig.

    * Getting drunk science – monitor blood alcohol level in resting and physically hard working thunderf00t
I saw that on Mythbusters. The treadmill was funny.

    * Remaster why do people laugh at creationists videos
    Yes.

    * 2) comparison of car crash stats and rules and regulations with guns
Interesting. Generally, teach people to objectivly relate “something scary” with “something mundane”. Like the Banana-equivilent radiation dosage (e.g. 40 gallons of ‘tainted’ milk equals one normal banana. Your baby eats bananas…)

    * call rationalwiki out on its comical degree of social justice warrior BS.
Yea, people need to know which information sources are good or bad, to develop a web of trust and learn to recognise signs of what to distrust.

  23. Anonymous Says:

    Rational wiki one

    • Anonymous Says:

I second this, bump it a little higher up the list. Rational wiki often leaves me confused so sorting out the BS would be great

  24. nihilism+ Says:

    * Say “NO!” to talking-heads!

** I want to see multimedia, not your talking-head. I like your looks, but I prefer looking at cool diagrams and video clips while you explain that something than looking at your lips moving. Don’t be one of those narcicistic folks like Rebecca Watson who is a one huge talking-head. Yeah, she’s also pleasant to look at, but I prefer graphics and clips over a talking-head.

    * Your science.

** What’s up with the low-quality lecture you have over at thunderf00tCC? You should make a whole series at full HD about that research:

*** Episode 1: The history of your field.

*** Episode 2: The reason you chose your tools of inquiry.

*** Episode 3: The setbacks and problems you had to work through.

*** Episode 4: Results, conclusions and future.

  25. Theolon Says:

Personally I wound enjoy a video debunking Laci Green. One person preaching that their views should be shared by all is an asinine and ignorant view of the world.

  26. Ray Says:

    climate change, please.

  27. Roger Says:

The Anita Sarkeesian one, please. I have read a couple of women’s studies theses myself (though Sarkeesian is not one of those), and they are golden 😀 What is not so golden how these people end up in positions in the government and the UN. In lieu of someone making a catalogue of these people it would at least help to raise awareness.

  28. Anonymous Says:

You should make a video about thevenusproject.com

  29. Sven Oostenbrink Says:

As always, the why people laugh at creationists videos, anything science and feminism

  30. Dahot Messenger Says:

-Full reason why having gender bias in top field is probably nothing to do with sexism

  31. Michael Peacock Says:

Science stuff… is my answer to your question. I love the *fact* that you take on people who believe that babies come from the stork or whatever, but I don’t really like watching you do it. Watching alkali metals explode in slo-mo is the most puerile thing I can handle. How to spend a billion… anything sounds fun. What’s not on your list & should be is rc airplanes. I know you dig those. And explosive metals. I know I already said that, but ethanol is amazing stuff….

    • Michael Peacock Says:

Also; it’s midnight here in California. I don’t generally abuse my liver at 7am. Or if I do I don’t post stuff on the Internet and let anybody know about it. [Read that with a discernable slur]
